Product focus
Fonte coffee with a MONIN caramel syrup or sauce application
A caramel latte is a familiar menu item, but it still needs balance to sell well. The coffee base, sweetness, milk texture, and presentation all matter. This version works as a starting point for cafés and bakeries that want a warmer, more seasonal drink without complicating service too much.
Mongol.coffee can help adapt the drink for hot or iced service, choose the right MONIN caramel application, and position it within a wider coffee menu.
Ingredients
- 3/4 oz. 22 1/2 mL MONIN Caramel Syrup
- 1/4 oz. 7 1/2 mL MONIN Salted Caramel Syrup
- 2 shot(s) espresso, Fonte Espresso Blend
- Fill with steamed milk
- MONIN Caramel Sauce to finish
Method
- 1
Pour both syrups into the serving cup in the order listed.
- 2
Pull the espresso directly over the syrups and stir to combine.
- 3
Steam milk to a fine, glossy texture.
- 4
Pour the steamed milk into the serving cup, holding the foam back until the last pour.
- 5
Finish with a caramel sauce drizzle and serve.
Service notes
Adaptation options
Iced serve
- Build both syrups and the espresso in a 16 oz. glass and stir before adding ice. - Fill with cold milk rather than steamed, then stir once more. - Increase the caramel syrup to 1 oz. 30 mL, because cold service mutes sweetness. - Finish with sauce lined around the inside of the glass rather than on top.
Menu placement
- Price it above the house latte, not alongside it. The sauce finish and the second syrup are what justify the gap. - Run it as a named seasonal drink for eight to twelve weeks rather than as a permanent line. - Pair it with a pastry or dessert item at the counter, where the caramel finish is visible.
Why this works on a menu
- Uses familiar caramel demand while still feeling like a signature drink.
- Works hot or iced, which helps extend one menu idea across seasons.
- Can be paired with bakery items or positioned as a coffee upsell.
Where it can fit
- Hot latte
- Iced latte
- Bakery pairing
